This Indenture made and Entered into this 18th day of October 1870 between Morris Veal of the County of Decatur and the State of Tennessee of the one part and David Welch of the County and State aforesaid other part witnesseth that for and in consideration of the Sum of Eighty dollars to me in hand paid by the Said David Welch the Receipt whereof is hereby acknowledged this day.  Bargain and Sold and do by these presents bargain, Sell, convey, and confer into the Said David Welch his heirs and assigns forever a certain tract or parcel of Land lying and being in the County and State aforesaid on the waters of Rushing Creek containing 88 acres more or less and Bounded as follows.  Beginning at the North West corner of Entry no. 358 for 200 acres in the name of William Henry Runs East 160 poles to its North East corner thence North 40 poles to a Stake in the South line of William Henry’s Survey for 600 acres thence west with Said line 140 poles to his South west corner of David Welch and Bennett Garrett 40 acre tract thence west 80 poles to Stephen Saints line thence South 50 poles to a stake thence East 16 poles to a Stake thence South to the Beginning to have and to hold the aforesaid land and bargained premises with all the Right and apportionments thereunto belongs.  I do covenant with the Said David Welch that I am lawfully Seized of Said land and has a good Right to convey the Same and that the Same is unencumbered I do further covenant and bind my Self and assigns to warrant and forever defend the title to the Said land and Bargained premises to the Said David Welch his heirs assigns forever Given under my hand and Seal the day and state above written

Personally appeared before me John Mc Millan, Clerk of County Court of Said County, Eliga Welch and L. P. More the Subscribing witnesses to the foregoing deed and after being duly qualified by me as the law directs State on their oaths that they saw Morris Veal assign and acknowledge the Execution of the foregoing deed to be his act and deed for the purposes therein contained on the day it bares date given under my hand at office this 23rd day of November 1870.

Registers Office January the 2nd 1871 at 4 O’clock PM then was the foregoing deed duly recorded in Record Book No 6 on page 307 and 308 noted in noted Book B on page 98.
