The Montgomery Family Cookbook: Montgomery - Barber Robert Lafayett Mongtomery and Anna Flora Barber were married August 19, 1899 by Justice of the Peace W. R. Brasher. Children born to Dick and Anna were: Void Ellison, Flossie Elizabeth, William Lewis, Clara Mae, Thomas Jake, Ula, Beulah Adabell, Monnie Hazel, and Bertie Margaret. Dick and Anna lived their entire lifetime in the Bath Springs community in south Decatur County and are buried along side each other in Kelly Cemetery. Robert Lafayett Montgomery was born December 20, 1877, to James Harvey Montgomery (April 8, 1853-May 12, 1914) and Fannie Autry (August 31, 1853-December 17, 1930). Robert was known as "Dick" throughout his lifetime. Dick's brothers were Coy, James Leroy, Granville Lester (June 22, 1885-June 28, 1899) and Roy. Twin, unnamed brothers were born August 20, 1889, and died August 22, 1889. Dick's sisters were Clara (November 8, 1882-July 28, 1912), Cora Montgomery Johnson and Ada Adaline (July 22, 1880-October 13, 1880). Dick died September 17, 1954. Anna Flora Barber Montgomery was born March 22, 1879, to John Thomas Leroy Barber and Elvar Elizabeth(Sis) Tucker Barber. Anna's brothers were James William (Jim) (November 14, 1884-March 16, 1958), John Thomas (January 1, 1889-??), Leonard Lonzo (November 3, 1896-January 1, 1918), Omer (January 19, 1891-August 18, 1927), and Kaster Edmon (March 3, 1893-May 16, 1927). Anna's sisters were Zula Ann (May 18, 1881-February 19, 1955), Adar (November 22, 1884-January 26, 1934), Berdie Elnor (March 16, 1898-??), and Elizabeth (February 27, 1880-January 5, 1881). Anna died December 7, 1954. Anna was a member of the Mount Nebo Methodist Church. Compiled by Thomas Montgomery. |
