DR. J L EASON, 84, passed away Sunday, September 3, at Baptist Memorial Hospital Hospice surrounded by loving family members. Dr. Eason was born in Paris, TN December 28, 1921 to Cordie Smith and Jesse Lee Eason. He graduated from The Memphis Normal School (University of Memphis) and The University of Tennessee College of Dentistry. He was a practicing dentist in Memphis for nearly 50 years. J L is survived by his wife of 53 years, Mickey Eason; daughter, Jessica Robinson (Jim); twin sons, who are both dentists, Dr. Dan Eason (Ann), all of Memphis, and Dr. Dave Eason (Amy) of Boydton, VA. He leaves nine grandchildren and one step-grandchild: Jay and Jesse Robinson, Brian and Michael Eason, Andrew, Nathan, Adam, Hannah and Zachary Eason and Aubrey McCrady. He also leaves one sister, Imogene Hernandez of Tampa, FL. He will be fondly remembered as a lover of world travel, knowledge and music, and as someone who enjoyed the simpler things in life such as fishing and hunting. Dr. Eason was a former member of the Chickasaw Country Club and the Old Memphis Yacht Club. He was also a 32nd degree Mason and a member of the Memphis Dental Society. He was Episcopalian. Visitation will be from 5-7 p.m. Wednesday, September 6 at Canale Funeral Directors. The funeral will be at 1:30 p.m. Thursday, September 7 at Canale Funeral Chapel with burial to follow in Memorial Park Cemetery. Memorials may be sent to the Alzheimer's Association, the Multiple Sclerosis Association, or to a charity of the donor's choice. What a husband, father and grandfather...he will be sadly missed.
