July 27, 1917 Lexington Progress Local News: John D. McCallum of Center, Texas, who left this county 32 years ago, has been back to this county on a visit and returned to Texas at the first of the week. Mr. McCallum is a son of the late Esq. A. F. McCallum of Scotts Hill and is an uncle of Mr. W. H. Lancaster, whose guest he was while in Lexington. John D. has the appearance of being a good solid man. [John D. McCallum is actually the uncle of W. H. Lancaster's wife, Mary.] In the 1930 census, John D. McCollum is living in the Joseph O. Fault household. He is the sole McCollum listed.
