Obituary for Marsha Smiley

Marsha Kay Smiley, age 67 of Pleasant View, Tennessee, peacefully went to her final resting place to be with her Lord and Savior on Monday, January 11, 2021.

A graveside service will be conducted at EverRest of Cheatham at 11:00AM on Thursday, January 14th, with Bro. Brad Shockley officiating. Burial will follow with BJ Hudspeth, Ricky Reed, Wesley Fort, Alex Aymett, Edwin “Dependable” Hogan, Josh Jackson, Andy Johnson, and Matt Carrigan serving as pallbearers.

Honorary pallbearers are Jimbo Wilson, Ken Whitaker, Kevin Jarrell, David King, Michael Charvis, and the Pleasant View First Baptist Senior Adults.

Mrs. Smiley was born on November 11, 1953 in Nashville to the late Christopher and Geraldine “Gerry” Charvis.

She was retired, but her previous work included many years of service to the community that she loved as an EMT and nurse. She fiercely loved her family (to the moon and back), she loved being the #1 cheerleader as her grandsons played baseball and granddaughters cheered or played softball, she loved to shop, cheer on her TN Volunteers, Atlanta Braves, and Tennessee Titans, she was blessed to have many wonderful friends, an amazing church family, and her precious pets that she loved very much. Marsha was a longtime member of Pleasant View First Baptist Church and past member of the North Cheatham Civitan.

In addition to her parents , she was preceded in death by a brother, Billy Charvis; granddaughter Deanna Briscoe; and her beloved boxer, Byrnsey.

Survivors include her husband of 35 years, Danny Smiley; sons Freddie (Andrea) Biggs, Brian (Denise) Biggs, and Daniel (Brittany) Smiley; daughter, Serena (Brian) Collingsworth; brothers Alan (DC) Charvis and Charles (Renae) Charvis; 8 grandchildren: Christopher Biggs, Kali (Dylan) Morton, Hunter Collingsworth, Peyton (Ellie) Biggs, Korey Douglas, Kaylee Biggs, Easton Smiley, and Reese Smiley; 3 great-grandchildren (Jordan Briscoe, Angel Biggs, and Wesley Morton); and her beloved cat, Miss Kitty.

In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to the Pleasant View First Baptist Church building fund.
