Obituary
Mr. Thomas Albert Turner, Jr. entered into rest Sunday May 20 2012 at Golden Living Nursing Facility after an extended illness.

Funeral services will be at Platt’s Belair Road Chapel on Wednesday, May 23, 2012 at 11:00 AM with Reverend Dr. J. Andrew Menger. The Burial will follow at Hillcrest Memorial Park, Augusta, Georgia.

Mr. Turner was born in Wilkes County, Georgia on 18 October 1929 to the late Thomas Albert and Janie Mae Henderson Turner Sr. He retired from The Savannah River Plant after 39 years of service and lived his entire married life in the Augusta area.
Mr. Turner was a Mason and a US Army Veteran, having served during the Korean War.

He is predeceased by his parents and a sister Janie Margaret (James) Powell.

He is survived by his wife of 54 years Dr Janice Butler Turner of Augusta and son and daughter-in law Thomas Albert Turner III and Dr Sheri Ann Fastenrath of Frankewing, Tennessee, four sisters; Barbara Lou Moffitt (Richard), Frances Laverne Wilson (Donald) both of Augusta, Myrna Gertrude Maddox (Tony) of Savannah, Vera Dale Maddox (Perry) of Augusta; Two brothers; Allen Eugene Turner Chattanooga, Tennessee, William Creighton Turner (Nancy) of Augusta. In addition he is survived by a special niece Wanda Britt (James).

Pallbearers will be James Britt, Perry Maddox, Tony Maddox, Jeff Horne, Larry Scott Butler and Brian Williamson.

The family will receive friends at Platt’s Belair Road on Tuesday evening from 6:00 PM until 8:00 PM.
