Note: Thomas C. "Tom" Parsons Thomas C. "Tom" Parsons Thomas C. “Tom” Parsons – Age 93 of Nashville, TN. April 25, 2021. Born April 21, 1928, in Decatur County, Tennessee to Clarence and Mattie Parsons, he grew up enjoying being a son on a working farm. As poor as they were, he found that life was rich and full of happiness. He joined the Marines and was part of the Chosin Few conflict in North Korea. He earned a Purple Heart and was recommended for the Bronze Star, but he refused the star because, "it was part of what I [he] should be doing" He worked for 45 years as a manufacturer’s Representative for National Casket Company and Batesville Casket Company. He retired as one of the most successful salesmen in the Batesville History. Tom is one of only 3 people who has served 2 terms (1972-73 & 1989-90) as President of the Tennessee Funeral Supply Sales Club. He retired enjoying golf and working on the "honey-do-list" created by Martha. He watched proudly as his family grew. He spent his days watching his favorite shows, meeting his coffee club in the morning, and participating in the Shriner's Organization. He was a happy man, very seldom got irritated (if he did, just give him room). He passed from this world in the arms of his family, his friends, and God. Preceded in death by wife, Martha Parsons. Survived by son, Thomas Parsons, Jr.; daughter, Keatha (Phil) Lyons; grandchildren, John (Katie) Houston, Kelly (Michael) Foster, Daniel Lyons & Mary Kate Lyons; great-grandchildren, Evie Houston, Hunter Foster, Lila Houston, Carter Foster, Jones Houston & Walker Foster.
