Charlie Edgar Sewell, enlisted in the Army May 28, 1918, and served in the infantry. Took basic training at Camp Pike, AR. Sailed for France September 15, 1918, landed at Brest September 28, 1918; was overseas until July 5, 1919. Boarded the ship USS Santa Elisa, landing at New York July 20, 1919. He was overseas 10 months and five days; in the Army 14 months.
