He was in purchasing at Johnson Controls for over 25 years. He is survived by 2 daughters, Sandy James and Tina Gambrell, 2 sisters, Bonnie Shavers and Patsy Creasy, 3 grandchildren, Josh James, Jodie Tate, and Tyler Gambrell, and 4 great-grandchildren, Luke Tate, Laken Tate, Lilly Tate, and Jaxon James. He was preceded in death by his wife Patricia Butler, his parents, a son, Sammy Jeremiah Butler, his parents, Faye and Delzie Butler, and 2 brothers, Hollis and Petey Butler. Funeral services will be Monday, January 10 at 2PM at Reeds Chapel with burial to follow in the Darden Cemetery. Visitation will be Sunday 1PM-9PM and Monday 9AM until service. |

Note: Bonnie Ruth Shavers, 83, of Decaturville, Tenn., passed away Tuesday, April 23 at AHC Westwood. Bonnie Ruth Shavers, 83, of Decaturville, Tenn., passed away Tuesday, April 23 at AHC Westwood. She was born June 22, 1940 in Saltillo, Tenn. to the late Lether Faye and Delzie Butler. Bonnie is survived by two daughters, Christine McClain, of Decaturville, Tenn. and Pam Kelley, of Decaturville, Tenn.; a son, Keith Shavers (Tonya), of Lexington, Tenn.; and a sister, Patsy Creasey, of Lexington, Tenn. She is also survived by seven grandchildren, Audra LaRue, Daniel McClain, Adam McClain, Grant Shavers, Fallon Shavers, Wynona Gwin and Annilie Kelley; and five great-grandchildren, Amy Williams, Brianna Gwin, Dylan Gwin, Madison Gwin and Mikayla Gwin. She was preceded in death by her husband, John Cecil Shavers; her parents; and three brothers, Hollis, Collis and Sammy Butler. Her funeral service will be held at Reed's Chapel in Decaturville at 3 p.m. on Thursday, April 25 with Bro. Jimmy Burroughs officiating. Burial will follow in Peace Chapel Cemetery.
