Funeral services for Alan Craig Lancaster, 51, were held September 20, 2011 at Shackleford Chapel in Savannah, Tennessee with Roger Vandiver officiating. Burial followed at Pleasant Hill Cemetery in Decatur County. Mr. Lancaster passed away Saturday, September 17, 2011 at the VA Hospital in Memphis. He was a veteran of the United States Army where he was with the 82nd Airborne Division. He was a member of Abundant Faith, the Disabled American Veterans and the American Legion in Savannah. He enjoyed fishing, painting, drawing and writing poetry. Mr. Lancaster is survived by two sons, Aaron Scott Lancaster of Spokane, Washington and Derrick Lee Lancaster of Yakima, Washington; a grandson, Zachary Aaron Lancaster; his mother, Gladys V. Lancaster of Savannah; his father, Gordon L. Lancaster of Adamsville, Tennessee; and one sister, Angela March of Savannah. He was preceded in death by one brother, Steven Lee Lancaster.
