Time of enlistment soldier was described as 5 feet 9 inches age 24, complexion fair, eyes blue, hair light, place of birth, Fayette Co. AL, occupation farmer. Filed for pension May 10, 1919, address Cloverdale, Al RFD # 2 Reported Aug. 12, 1919 to have only 1 arm. In a letter dated May 13, 1922 Reported as being 88 years old in 1922 James lost his arm in a sawmill accident after the war.
