Shared note
|
According to family tradition, William J. Duke, the patriarch of the Duke clan had a hunting accident and died in S.E. MO. His wife Delila who evidently controlled the finances, said she was going no farther on their journey to participate in a land lottery in Texas. Per the census records, Isaac was already in Texas for about 8-10 years, and decided to be with the rest of the clan in Missouri, and returned.
