The Edmund H. Lucas family is said to have lived in Decaturville, Tennessee for many years according to some sources. By 1850, census records show them in Humphries County, Tennessee. Then, very soon after the Civil War ended, Edmund H. Lucas, his wife Elizabeth (unknown) Lucas, and their two sons, Isaac J. and Nimrod F. G. Lucas, moved to Crow, Scott County, Arkansas. Elizabeth died soon after their arrival, as did Nimrod. Nephews and nieces later made the move from Tennessee to Lucas. Isaac J. Lucas and his wife Rosa Ann Elizabeth (Blevins) Lucas built the Lucas General Store in what was then known as Crow, Scott County, Arkansas. Crow was later re-named Lucas (the exact time is not known) in honor of Isaac J. and Rosa. In 1903, that part of Scott County was annexed to Logan County and remains so today.
In the 1880 census, E. H. Lucas is living in the Isaac Lucas household. October 28, 1850 May 22, 1859 September 25, 1860
