Shared note
|
Coosa John seems to have disappeared from the face of the earth. His wife died young and one of their children, named Jacob Butler was left with friends to raise. The friends were the Thomas Harper family. In the 1880 census of Shelby Co., AL Jacob is listed as a ward of Thomas Harper and his age is 6. Howard Butlers Note: "The 1870 census for Jefferson Cty, Al shows this entry I suspect it to be the same John: John Butler, age 31, male, white, farmer, born in Ala. L. G. Butler, age 28, female, white, keeps house, born in Ala. M. J. Butler, Age 7, female, white, born in Ala. Liddy Butler, Age 5, female, white, born in Ala., and Daniel Butler, age 3, male, white, born in Ala and William Butler age 1, male, white, born in AL. |
