Lona Crawley Keeton

Lona Crawley Keeton passed away on Nov. 27, 2020 from a brief illness. Born to Mack and Alma Brooks Crawley on July 2, 1929, she was 91 years young and lived her entire life in Decatur
County, Tenn. Her husband, Sanders Leon Keeton; sons, John Keith and David A. Keeton; brother, George Crawley; and both parents, precede her in death.

Gran-Gran as many affectionately called her, worked in a factory while attending business school at night to become a legal secretary for lawyer, James Lawson England. In 1966 when James Lawson England was elected Judge of the 22nd Judicial District, Gran-Gran became court reporter. She
honorably served the state court system for over 30 years. Upon her retirement she and her husband opened Keeton’s Korner, an antique shop for all the unique finds they had collected over the years. Gran-Gran had many interests and served her community within several organizations. She was a 50-year member of Parsons OES #127 serving in many offices as well as the Grand Officer of the State of Tennessee, member of the Democratic Women and the Democratic executive committee of Decatur County for many years, and was on the Library Board as well as the Shiloh Regional Library Board. As an active member of the First United Methodist Church of Decaturville, she served in the role of Treasurer for 35 years.

Gran-Gran is survived by daughters, Sandra K. Gregory of Nashville and Georganna K. Coleman (Rick) of Decaturville; son, Sam Condron of Elgin Texas; a sister, Ruth Maness of Decaturville; a daughter-in-law. Judith B. Keeton of Nolensville; grandchildren, Kandy Keeton, Kari Voigtmann (Jeremy), Amanda Toschlog (Eric), Christa Magnuson (Kevin), Shelley Redden (Payton), Annie Howard (Justin), Nicholas Coleman (Kelly) and Kala Damron (Jerry); and great-grandchildren, Mallorie Magnuson, Trevor Magnuson, Tanner Magnuson, Ethan Toschlog, Bella Toschlog, Macy Reddix, Reese Reddix, Mary Payton Redden, Charlie Redden, Caroline Redden, Anna Redden, Harper Redden, Paisley Howard, Jude Howard, Eli Coleman and Sophie Coleman.

Gran-Gran enjoyed spending time with her family and friends but especially her grandchildren. She was passionate about her Lady Vols, Elvis and her political beliefs.

A family graveside service was held on Tuesday, Dec. 1 at 2 p.m. Donations may be made in her memory to First United Methodist Church of Decaturville, 108 North Pleasant St. Decaturville, TN 38329 and Town of Decaturville Cemetery, Inc. 29 E. Main St. – City Hall, Decaturville, TN 38329.
