The early Lancaster's came from England to America by 1635 and settled in Maryland. One son Benjamin was born in England in 1610. His son Henry had son Benjamin who came to Edgecomb County, NC, and died there Sept. 24, 1793. His son Benjamin Marion was born in 1783 and came to Hickman County, TN, by 1830. He and two sons were Primitive Baptist preachers. He was married to Sarah Whitfield (b. 1785, Virginia). Benjamin is shown as being received into Salem Baptist Church in 1832 in Hickman County. They were in Perry County by 1850. Both were dead by 1860. They are buried possibly in Lick Creek in Perry County, TN.
One son, David L. (1807-1891) came to Decatur County and settled near Parsons and later in Dunbar Community where he farmed and was a carpenter. He was a colonel in State Militia and married to Parmelia Davidson-children: Harvey, Jesse, William, Evaline, Benjamin, Marion, David, and John G.
Second marriage to Cynthia Duck-children, Bathsheba, Gabriel Benjamin, Marion (b. 1836 in Decatur County) married Martha Tennessee Wells and fought in the Civil War. Children: Robert Lee, Emily Cora, William Edgar, Kitty, Jesse. Robert Lee married Addie McClure-children: Curry, Beulah, Euda, Thelma, Benjamin "Benny-D", Grady, Julia.
