South Bend ------------- Agnes Ruth Geans, 82 , died at 12:38 p.m. Sunday, July 8, in Riverside Village, Elkhart.
She was born December 14, 1924, in Cloverdale, Alabama, to the late Floyd and Lina Norred.
Agnes was raised in Cloverdale, and on March 3, 1940, she married Leonard L. Geans, who passed away April 2, 2001. They moved to Mishawaka in 1941 and raised their six children in the Mishawaka-South Bend area.
She was preceded in death by two brothers, Earl and William C.; two sisters, June Cossey and Dexter Summerford; and by a grand-son, Kirk Ferguson.
Surviving are six children; daughters, Barbara and Don Snyder of South Bend, Sharon and Chris Reeves of San Jose, CA, and Shelia Ready of Mishawaka; and sons, Robert and Barbara of Edwardsburg, Rocky and Janet of Mishawaka; and George and Patti of Fernpark, FL; sisters, Bonnie White of Mishawaka, Earlene and Herschel Heavner of Little Rock, AR; a brother, Floyd Norred Jr. of Florence AL; 21 grandchildren and 39 great-grandchildren.
Services for Mrs. Geans will be at 1 p.m. Thursday, July 12 in the Welsheimer Family Funeral Home North, 17033 Cleveland Road, South Bend, where friends may call from 6 to 8 p.m. Wednesday,and one hour prior to services on Thursday. Burial will be at Fairview Cemetery, Mishawaka.
