Sale of Butler Land in Walker Co. AL - 1860

J. M. Butler to Noah Parris

This indenture made the 27th day of February in the year of our Lord 1860, Between James M. Butler & Amanda E. C. Butler of the first part, and Noah Parris of the second part witnesseth, That the said part of the first part for and in consideration of the sum of four hundred and forty Dollars to us in had paid at and before the sealing and delivery of these Presents sold and conveyed and do by these presents grant bargain sell and convey unto the said part of the second part and to his heirs and assigns forever, The following tracts or parcels of land known as the East half of the North East fourth of Section seven and the west half of the North West fourth of Section eight all of Township 14 of Range nine west containing one hundred and sixty acres more or less, Together with all and singular the tenements and appurtenances thereunto belong or in any wise appertaining and also all the estate right title interest claim or demand whatever of James M. Butler and Amanda E. C. Butler, the parties of the first part either in law or equity of in and to the above bargained premises, and every part and parcel thereof To have and to hold to the said part of the second part his heirs and assigns to the whole and only proper use benefit and behoof of the said part of the second part his heirs and assigns forever.  And the said party of the first part, for their heirs executors and administrators do hereby warrant and will forever defend the title of the above bargained premises to Noah Parris his heirs and assigns free from the claim or claims of all and every person or persons whomsoever, as also the claim of the General Government.

                             I William Nesmith a Justice of the peace for said county certify that James M. Butler & Amanda E. C. Butler his wife whose name is signed to the foregoing conveyance who is known to me acknowledged before me on this day that being informed of the contents of the conveyance they executed the same voluntarily on the day the same bears date.

No 27, 746 Receiver’s Office at Huntsville Ala January 13th 1857 Received from James M Butler of Walker County Alabama the sum of Ten Dollars and one cent; being in full for the W ½ of NW ¼ of Section No 8 in Town No 14 of Ranges No 9 W containing 80 acres and 05/100 hundredth at $ 12 ½ cts per acre.

Noah Parris To J. N. Boshell

Know all men by these presents that for and in consideration of the sum of Twenty Two Dollars & 20, in hand paid by John N Boshell, the receipt whereof is hereby acknowledged we do grant Bargain sell and convey unto the said John N. Boshell the following real estate to wit The E ½ of the NE ¼ of Section 7 & W ½ of NW ¼ of Sec 8 all in T 14 R 9 west containing one hundred & sixty acres more or less to have and to hold to the said John N. Boshell his heirs and assigns forever and we do for heirs executors and administrators do warrant and defend the title of the above bargained premises to the said John N. Boshell his heirs and assigns forever.
